Personal History

• Raised on a farm in Pawnee County where grandfather was a county commissioner.
• Undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Nebraska, receiving a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at age 25.
• Owns and operates a dental practice for 35 years in Florence, a community of all socioeconomic levels.
• Married wife Pam, a native of North Omaha, 35 years ago.
• Three children and three grandchildren, all living in District 7.  We are a multicultural family seeking to find what binds us together as opposed to what separates us.
• Martial artist with several black belts, once owning a martial arts school and writing a textbook for students with some performing demonstrations with the Omaha Symphony.
• Trained handicapped kids and adults.
• Former pilot and now rides a Harley Davidson.
• Published Poet.
• Avid gardener and "fixer upper"
• Farm owner and operator.
• Cancer survivor and enjoys life.
• Featured in Sun-Up Interview with the Omaha World Herald's, Robert McMorris.
• Featured in a League of Human Dignity interview by William Rush regarding the training of handicapped children.

Political/Public Service History

• Experienced, serious leadership.
• Past and present member of several community service organizations.
• Former SID board member facing the challenges of making SID compliant with EPA standards.  We promised the SID residents that we would remove the tax levy to become compliant when we became compliant.  We fulfilled that promise.
• Called to panel a think tank on the Middle East crisis by Charles Kuralt and CBS News.
• Founding member of Florence Kiwanis
• Established proposal to allow female membership in Kiwanis as up to that point,Kiwanis was a men only organization.
• Established physical support program for St. James Shelter.
